Levelling ploughed ground

Would this type of cultivator level ploughed ground deep down?
Our ploughman likes to plough 7-9” deep which leaves the ground pretty uneven. We’ve used drag harrows in the past but wondered if this would do a better job. PP grass to grass re-seeds.

no its not really for that purpose.
and working too deep will bring turf etc back up and spoil the seedbed for small seeds particularly.
the ploughing should be done better is the first answer, its an exspensive job these days so it should be done as well as can be. by someone who has patience to sort it if not good.

as far as cultivation goes for the purpose a tume/ woods would be ok for the job. unless very heavy ground.

job to find good ones now and im not sure if they are made new now by anyone. dowdeswell made one like it once a upon a time as well.

It'll just move the clods around and leave the ground very "ridged" Ideally you want to run through with a power harrow, you could then re-seed straight into it, roll, job done. I've tried Spring tine type implements for the same task and they don't really do a lot unless you're on light ground or sand, found here it needed multiple passes and was just as quick to run the power harrow over it.

Put some new tines on it and whack it in deeper or conversely get your ploughman to plough shallower (and maybe learn to plough!!)
There too use to ploughing for maize around here, can’t get anyone to plough at 6”, half the time there trying to bury god knows how much slurry in

We had a speed Harrow which did a good job but really needed 200hp to get to a decent depth, and our tractor didn’t quite have enough grunt really
4m one will be ok on 100hp unless steep ground.
its not a tool for deep working .

but for reseeding the ploughing needs to be level above all else.because the shallow working for grass seeding wont do so much fundamental levelling after.

Don't know what sort of soil you're on but for what I'm used to I'd be looking at a disc harrow with the cut set according to exact conditions.

Oh and as others have said, ploughing deep doesn't excuse unevenness.
