Looking to buy these tractors stated below......

Thank you. What about an Massey ferguson 8250 with dynashift(not powershift). I am still trying to make up my mind what I will purchase. I am looking between a 6290,8220,8250 and 8130. Which is best in ur opinion. We have steep hills so I do need a fair bit of power for pulling the 2300 gallon tanker.
My personal opinion would be 8220 or 8250, 8100 series are not masseys finest machines only worth looking at if you know the history and its dirt cheap, 6290 might be a bit light and you would have to pay a premium because of there rock solid reputation, hope this helps....cheers

Thank you. That was very helpful indeed, I will agree with u that the 6290's are pricey, just like the 390t, 398 and 399's.
Fella I know bought an 8130 for around 16 grand which is pretty good and its supposed to be an absolute animal, it doesn't even feel the full forage wagon on the back of it he said.

No, I don’t know what causes your error code, someone more familiar with them on here likely would though.

Your 165 will use a Perkins 203 or 212. I’ve a 212 in an old IH and I’d bet that if it could put out 98hp it wouldn’t be for long.

T3 6480 uses the same engine as your 6465 T3.

Plenty of options out there, your choice.
Thanks.

any 8100 series or 6100 series massey kicking about now they will be the good ones so i wouldnt fear them, any faults will be known.

as said above shear weight doesnt mean better im just in from slurry with a 2250 tanker behind a mxm140, it is noticably heavier than the valmet 8400 is that i normally use, both on agrimax tires the same size and the valmet would go further than the mxm but the mxm is nicer on the road and the weight is noticably better in the field. just doent seem to grip as good.

We had a 8130 new. What a pile of sh!t, traded in a 3655 with 6000+ hr on it which, i can honestly say never had a spanner laid on it in anger in 3 years. It would be easier to say what didn't go wrong with it, which was basically the engine.

Feck, the 8130 isn't great so, I am definitely looking at an MF 8220 instead. What are the main problems with the 8100 and 6100 series and is the 8220 a good reliable tractor.
