I'd take the M over the R any day for the cab alone but 50k would be handy now we've had them a while it seems slow getting between farms at 40k

strange. Only 6r I’ve been in is a 6170r which I found a very nice place to be. most 20 and 30 series I can’t stand. Driven plenty of 7r and 8r which I find the seat is ok in but the cab suspension is the worst I’ve ever used.

They’re a very comfortable cab, it’s the electronics I don’t want. The 00, 10 and 20 series was a cab anyone could get in and drive with no training. The 30 series was just over complicated.
We have Fastracs for long days, comfort and speed. I want a simple tractor with levers for the stockmen, and a bit of casual help on hay turners etc.

The R cab is the main reason I'll be looking at going to another brand next year for no reason whatsoever none of us can get comfy in it for any more than a couple of hours but can sit in our 30 series all day :scratchhead:
That’s strange. We run all Deere’s and the r series are the comfiest cabs I’ve ever had. Plenty of space and suspension is great. I’ve also had the chance to operate Fendt, case and new holland, nothing comes close to r series.

I don't mind the cab and can't understand it but just can't hit that sweet spot with the seat like I can with the 30 series. I can't stand having no side windows but the 5 post cab sorted that .
Only thing I kinda like as much as the JD is a JCB but I'd still take a 6930 over anything else

different machines for different jobs. I have a Fendt with another on order. I need the spec with rtk gps, high flow hydraulics, ability to variable rate products and section control. With comfort and speed between jobs. The r series would be the closest to these requirements but would have to be a command pro spec.

I have no use for a low spec machine other than a few hours per year.

Exactly. The R series is the high spec machine. The M series was the low spec. Now you can get command arm, Autopower, autopilot ready etc, the M series is a high spec machine.
They’re competing against themselves now with no low spec option for those that want it.

isn’t it still possible to buy a low spec m. I’ve not studied it much but I thought it could still be bought with power quad. What else has made it high spec over the older m

You can buy a low spec one but still has all the electronic switches down the side. A lot of people brought the M’s because they were about the only mainstream make that had no ‘electronic settings’.

Now they are have, they have lost that USP. That means people will look at other makes.

As said I’ve not seen them and hope not too but from the brochure it looks like a more user friendly version of what they had before. The dash display on the old ones is pathetic to use. I’ve an older 6140m command quad here at the moment that I’m installing Trimble auto steer in.
