Maize Mess Madness

Hardly a fad. We’ve grown maize for at least twenty years. No different to the sugar beet we used to grow. Usually August is a wetter month than October and there were plenty getting stuck with straw bales this year. There’s always some risk, same with potatoes, but what else do you suggest as a good paying spring break.
it's a fad. folks ought to be ashamed of themselves.

The trouble is, roads are left muddy (understatement) by the contractors, who have a " its not my job to clean" attitude!
A lady and car ended up in a deep ditch, just down the road from me!
Farming receives enough bad press.
These maize contractors are not doing us any favours!

And what’s the farmer doing who phoned said contractor, farmer who’s idea it was to plant maize in a field with a dodgy gateway straight out onto a busy country road? If he hasn’t got a road brush use a bucket and shovel!

Felt sorry for my neighbour today, trying to keep the road clean, plenty of motorists no doubt cussing him but none of them prepared to slow down or give him a bit of room to do the job, there can be very few fields you can get out of this year without making a mess.
