Did anyone find a decent pump for IBC's

I started a thread on something similar a few days ago.

Think the conclusion that was reached was use gravity. If you have a induction hopper you can measure into get a pipe and put ibc higher up and just measure it out into hopper.

I would like a pump with a flow meter for manganese I buy in ibcs. Seem to spend a lot of time filling and emptying buckets when filling sprayer.

I dont think it would be as easy for top emptying tanks with no bottom outlet though?
If it was bottom emptying like most add blue IBC,s then gravity is all you need like you say.

Cant believe spilt add blue is any better than roundup for the environment though.

I wasn't aware you got ibcs with no bottom outlet. I have never seen one. Its a good idea from a safety point of view though.

Yes, we have just siphoned out bottom emptying IBC,s for years , gravity is reliable and simple .... I dont see what top emptying brings to the party if the outlet tap and dispensing gun are switched off properly in the first place. It is still possible to siphon inadvertently from the top of the IBC unless the pump is mounted up there as well IMO.I think @Feldspar may have dealt with this one from memory?

All our IBCs of glyphosate come in this format. There is some specialist connection port as well as a normal screw top. I need to find a way of connecting to this because I think otherwise it might be difficult for us to return them.

I am a bit annoyed that Frontier just delivered it without a word regarding some sort of emptying system, no wonder the level of recycling in the UK is pitiful in comparison with some other countries . It seems we are not alone with this problem according to others on here.

I will think twice before taking the bulk delivery recycleable option again. At least early order and delivery gives us time to try and sort it before things get really busy. Faffing around with numerous 20L drums is a system I want to get away from TBH.

But you can easily buy metered pumps ( as well as the correct & specialist fittings ) for pumping chemical out of them from ANY chemical reseller or spray equipment shop here

Half Pipe

That looks much better connector than UK adblue, they similar with valve in centre, but UK doesn't have the bayonet style part, just a lip for the pump connector to clip onto, it's like a u shaped part, works ok it weight of pipe hangs in right direction to hold top of U down, quite often had to tie pipe in right direction to lever on the U.

Picture probably explain better

Not readily available here. What brands of pump do you use in Australia?

I will see if my brother can send 1 over. He lives in Australia.

i use a contractor for all my spraying, so personally i just use a simple hand rotary pump like this, with a micromatic fitting on it, to get a few litres out for spot spraying.

I just bought the pump & micromatic fitting over 20 yrs ago, from the rural merchandise shop I buy my ag chemicals from.
You can go as simple as that, to electric pumps that have flow meters & batch control, all depends on useage & $$$

the very first ones I saw ( over 20 yrs ago now ) were Hardi, but I dont know if they were Euro or built locally by Hardi Australia.
Anyway, various brands available from ANY spray equipment shop or chemical resellers & most new SP sprayers or bigger trailed sprayers would have them included on them

you can buy complete pumps / meters / fittings, or whole batching units, or you can just buy all the parts individually & make up your own - everything is readily available

most of the electric 12V units seem to run either Shurflo or Sotera pumps.

heres a few options to look at

We can supply a very economical way of pumping out of IBCs without a bottom mounted tap.
This is suitable for both 200L barrels and 1000L IBC containers.
