A neighbour phoned and asked me about this as the nitrogen up take is supposed to be more instant and you don’t need to use as much fertiliser what do people know about this - I’d be concerned that it would block up the sprayer

Did it last year when dry spring, ordinary nozzles, only about 17kgN in 200litres per ha plus litre molasses. 600kg urea in 3000litres, it takes in heat to dissolve so can freeze!

If you spray it on through normal water nozzles you will kill the crop. You must use liquid fert dribble bars or nozzles.

Scorch will occur, if sprayed in unsuitable weather conditions or too much N at once. Have done it with ordinary guardian airs at less than 20kgN , 200litres water plus 1 litre urea. No scorch and crop went on to yield normally. (Melted urea) no idea about UAN

Err, I’m not sure what you are telling us !
if you are mixing one ltr/kg 🤷🏻 in 200 ltrs water, no wonder there’s no scorch, because there’s almost zero n in that mix.

How much water & time does it take to melt a 600kg bag of 46% urea?

One bag per 4000l tank @150l/ha is 10.35kg N/ha

Could help with spreading N across the season if you can mix with other stuff
