30 years ago I had a MF 690 4wd on a 21m Hardi mounted sprayer with 1000l rear and 500l front tank. Times have changed somewhat though so any advice today for a 2000l rear tank and 1500l front tank with 24m booms. When loaded the rear part would gross 3600kg and the front 1800kg with water.

Budget would only be around £30,000 and it would also be used for pulling trailers, rolling, topping so more lighter duties. Around 400 hours a year.

you seem to be up to speed on the weights, so just check the maximum axle loadings of your desired tractor.

I'd buy a lwb new Holland. Preferably autocommand. I've a similar setup on a lwb t7.

It’s something I keep considering.
Would ideally like 30m booms and got a mid range 6R. There’s a few manufacturers to choose from.
Am I brave enough to loose the self propelled luxury and live in real world economics?

Similar set up here, new sprayer this year on a Claas 800. Nice balanced comfortable setup. Spraying in the grass field was just water to get it setup.

@Chae1 how does the landquip transfer between tanks? Is it run auto as 1 tank or do you run and fill them separately?

Fully manual. Seperate mixes, or can put it all in back, pump right amount forward, then top up with water. Can't really see point in that as your not pumping in water while transferring forward.

Front tank has its own pump, which is driven by hydraulic motor.

You'll hopefully get off with it, but not many tractors rated to carry that much weight.

Just have to check max gross weight of tractor. New Holland does allow you to carry a fair bit.

Also have to watch tyres are rated for carrying that much weight. Especially if doing road work full.

Do you find the hitch very low on the NH? I know the Bill Bennett hitch on the Fendts are even lower, but I always found New Holland's Sauermann hitches very low.

It's mainly going to be on a Fendt!

I've got 380/90/R50 rowcrops, which should put it up in the air a bit.

It was on a Fastrac before, it didn't have very good drawbar clearance either.

Did wonder if it's a big job removing Fendt pick up hitch.

I’ve got a mf 6480 tier 3 on my 1900l back and 1500l front 28m knight and it seems to cope fine I’ve had the back sprayer 13 years on that tractor but only added the front tank this year. I have put it on a bigger frame 7720 a few times and ironically it doesn’t feel so stable but I think that maybe because it’s on a taller tyre profile. If I was to change the tractor I’m not sure what I’d go for but I’d probably try a vario my brother thinks I should have a 4cyl but I’m not sure I agree I like something with low down power for spraying but maybe a vario would solve that

Would it be possible to a guard to the front of the hitch to stop it bulldozing?
