Dutch Openers give an option of up to 5" broadcast outlets I think. I'm on 2" as don't want to much desturbance. 16 coulters in 4mts.

I know I'm "preaching to the choir" with this: for those on heavier land the later version of the ST (with 'Multigrip' legs) is the better drill, as it has a far higher trip force than the original 'Classic shank' , 250kg v 150kg.

not only on a CO drill. Option & in most cases standard on CS drills for 10+ years ;-)
Much better than the normal sensors like Accord or others uses them in the tank.

Having seen how little disturbance the narrow time creates I'm no longer sure a disc in front not the tine would have al lot to offer

Certainly not, it's to hard and dry to trash the JD at the moment in my opinion. Horsch is cheap to run and clears the straw for good soil seed contact when seeding covers. JD will do the cash crops when conditions are less harsh.
There are two thing in life it's impossible to have to many of, drills and cars.

It should cope with residue or cover crops better though

Cover crops today, with liquid fert under it - will have both 750a and the CO going on osr this week though
