New claas arion thoughts

Our 410 seems light on the back end but the new 440 is an inch odd smaller wheelbase (I think) when I looked at a new 410 next to a 530 it looked too small in comparison but the new 440 is bigger than the new 410 so I guess a 450 might be bigger again.
My only concern with the cab suspension on the 5&600 is that as it’s on 4 corners would it cause the tractor to exaggerate the lean on the banks?
I’ve never had front suspension so never missed it but now you’ve got me thinking..

When you say light on the backend do you mean lifts a wheel on loader work? If a loader is going to be on all the time with boom suspension you could manage without axle. We drop the loader off often when not needed for fertiliser or spraying or raking and then we really wish we has frt suspension.

Ah, that’s interesting. As for light yes whenever I reverse up our yard it’s on it’s front wheels with two bags of fert and when shifting 4 round bales it’s ‘interesting’ in places. ‘Usually’ the loader is left on all the time so only ever had soft ride as mostly I’m the only one driving so I just jump on the other tractor for field work but my thinking with this one was to remove to loader for more field work to preserve my other tractor longer. I spend all winter shifting bales in the loader tractor over rough ground so a bit of comfort would go along way but reading this I guess the front suspension would then be a little wasted with the loader perhaps.
Apologies to the op as I’m trying to gain as much info as possible on his thread about a smaller tractor which might confuse others as we’ve got the same name:whistle::sneaky::LOL:

4 round bales on a loader tractor would be a little ambitious! For stability I would think pushing it a bit .Our 410 old model with 600x38s has never lifted a wheel with wet heavy silage on.

I don’t mean 4 on the front, had our 410 on 34’s so it was lower and she doesn’t feel as stable as other tractors we’ve had. We’ve got tight places we can’t get big trailers so got no choice but to shift 4’s. My boys are getting to the stage of doing a fair bit of tractor work so I need safety so probably go smaller loader so weight is closer to the tractor

I'd be having a new Puma if it were me. You get a lot more tractor for your money with a Case over a Claas in my opinion. Heard of a lot of reliability issues with Claas. Plus the Claas don't seem to be worth very much at all when it comes to trade in time.

I went from a claas to a puma now want to go back. Our old 620 was twice the tractor to drive over the puma

I had a claas for 2 yrs it was 50k box and I'm almost certain it didn't have front brakes I'm sure I was told they're bigger brakes in the back unless they changed them ?

From my experience I wouldn't go near another claas I've got a couple of good friends that run claas both using 650's the older ones definitely gave less problems one lad I know says his worst one is now 3 yrs old and most of the problems are solved now he says it at a stage that's liveable now the other lads say theirs is pretty much been ok since day 1 same as everything for every 9 good ones you seem to get 1 really bad

The 50k definitely have front disc brakes as standard and can be specced on 40k so may be new models but if yours was only 2years ago that surprises me or at least makes me wonder are they worth having??

More brakes are always worth having in my opinion it's maybe the older models I'm thinking of

Brakes were not a strong point of the claas from my experience. It took a fair shove on the pedals to get pulled up not as bad as a case tho

That puma I have is horrendous at stopping even just itself, claas before had good positive brakes. Don’t even start me on about the trailer brakes on the puma

Yeh they're shocking I had a demo feed wagon I took it back on a puma 185 and brakes are shockingly bad the cvx are better I've not driven a power shift one for a long time and wouldn't thank you for one

The claas was ok for brakes but absolutely useless as independent brakes the pedal was on the floor trying to get it helped in the end.
Mind I'm comparing to JD which you just have to rest your foot on the pedal to do anything

With regards to thoughts on the new 500/600’s they only seem to be coming through at dealers recently so I wouldn’t think you’ll get much of an opinion from anyone on them yet .
