Thats at least a 1/3 more as I would normally use, almost twice as much. Youre either working it very hard or you have an issue.

When you get the opportunity i would take it on a good unladen run, 100 miles or so. You should get at least 30mpg even if driven relatively enthusiastically. Reset the trip computer and do a pump to pump test to be sure. Any less and i would go and see your dealer.

The NP300 is generally considered by most to be one of the better pickups when it comes to fuel consumption.

Ah, sorry I didn't think that was a lot, was expecting to fill it more often, but never had ad blue before. I wouldn't say I drive hard, just usually towing, but not always upto weight.

Yes I'll give it a go on a long run when I need to, I will phone the customer services to see if there's anything they can look at, then at least it's written down.

Sorry to hijack @west coast angus .

They are a torque converter auto, so no.

No, some vehicles (VW DSG) are a robotised manual with auto clutches (2) - so different

You are back in the dark ages, still using a manual pickup, with a likely DMF failure coming your way, potentially

Torque Converter Auto's are fine and very good to tow with and offroad better too (some prefer them)

Manual gearboxes should be phased out and confined to history...................ask Alexa what she thinks

I think all hgv units would be autos, I think you would have to order a manual now

I see you can get a brand new face lifted top of the range Nissan Navara N Gaurd with 5 years /100,000 mile warranty for just £21500. The face lift includes upgraded rear suspension, bigger brakes with disks on the rear, new seats, new manual gear box, better mpg. Sunfoof etc.

Is this the best value pickup on the market at the moment?

I am thinking of upgrading in the next few months, and always buy second hand. But this has really got me thinking! Reviews on line all seem good too.
I bought a Tekna in july for about £1k more.
Couple of things worth remembering:
The five year warranty starts when it’s registered, not when you buy it, so if you buy a pre-reg one now that was registered in sept you will lose approx 5 months of warranty, however, their are deals to be had (see autotrader etc).
Automatic is vastly superior to manuals. Best I’ve had on a long run is 45.7mpg. Manual gearbox feels like a bit of a pudding stirrer
Driving aids are your friend on a truck as long as a bus.
Towing is very good, much better than I thought it would be.
Hope this helps

Getting decent fuel economy on our manual Hilux.
Will have to try an auto to see what all the fuss is about.

That's ashame about the mpg, I do alot of miles so good fuel consumption is very important too me. They have changed gear ratios to improve mpg, i read instead of doing 2000rpm at 60 mph it now sits at 1500rpm.

Is yours an auto?
It’s important to remember on nissans that on a journey, the fuel consumption starts at 0mpg and climbs as you keep driving.
Have had German cars which start at 99mpg and drop.
I live on a lane and it is uphill to main road. Truck is only doing 15mpg until I’m on main road, but up around 35mpg by the time I reach town 5 miles away

Yes, but they are the exception in the pickup market, and we were talking about the Nissan

Edit..... I am wrong above....Vw use a ZF torque converter auto and don't use the DSG box in its pickups
