I’ve tried Rossi after having red backs for ages I’d personally stick with red backs the Rossi boot is a lot harder on your feet compared to red backs.
Just got a new pair of Rossi from Kiwikit, mine are the non safety version. They do seem to be thicker leather than my last pair so will take a bit more breaking in. I expect them to last a bit longer as a result. Previous pair lasted 12 months which is good going for me.I'm thinking of trying Rossi instead of my usual Redbacks. I have to go to Crymych in the week and Kiwikit stock the Endura safety boots, are they the ones you've had?

It's the harder-wearing reputation that's made me think the Rossi boots are worth trying; there's no doubting the comfort of the Redbacks, but the leather never seems to last as long I think it should. In any case, they are worth trying once to see if they're goers.Just got a new pair of Rossi from Kiwikit, mine are the non safety version. It seems all brands vary the thickness of leather.
Funnily enough, every time I've twisted my ankle and fallen over in my Redbacks has been in my clean clothes in the middle of some town where either the pavement or the tarmac has had a few millimetres of ridge. Never on the really rough ground. Always when I least expect it.I’ve had them an had the same problem, I need ankle support, I can step on a penny and my ankle will go over
I'm very happy with my safety Redbacks bought via FMP. Took 3 weeks to come though.

Leather is soft so if crawling/ kicking is regular you'll wear toes out. To us out the expensive way.right a question for the users of redback boots,
what are the soles like compared to other work boots,
ie do they stand heat, like hot bits of metal that's been gas axed off, what a out protection from standing on sharp bits, or a nail etc,
does the steel toe capped ones have a steel mid sole,
any good for general heavy use, ie rolling about under machines, workshop work, driving in
and kicking the apprentice od time
Hi Everyonealso lucy told kev that the Jarah was being discontinued (odd as it’s by far the best seller) so i think i’m going to order a spare pair and put them away until i need them !
I've had to revert to lace up boots for just that reason. I do have a pair of Redback Cobars which are zip sided lace ups. They aren't that much easier to put on and off than lace ups really. There are lots of decent walking boots around.Sorry to revive an old thread but just after some advise pls.
I’ve had several pairs of red backs over the past 5-10 years or so (black slip on with steel toe) but I’ve started to get aches and pains in my legs (I’m nearly 50, but not over weight and am fit) I wonder if it’s the ankle support on the red backs that’s causing me trouble? They do seem very flimsy at the top. Very easy to crank over your ankle in potato fields!
I just wondered if they did anything with better ankle support? Or what other make would offer greater ankle support? I do prefer slip-ons, but maybe I’ll have to go for a lace up?

I think many older people vwould disagree with thatLace up boots with ankle support are a bit like wearing a cast on your wrist, your muscles & tendons won't be used as much so will become weaker.
