Bean Seed is booked at £520
Barley has been booked but not priced. Thats with Agrii. We'll see how it looks. Hopefully its not a pee take

It will be priced at whatever some poor sod will pay for it in three months time. It will be pants down and dont forget the vaseline time. Merchants will be trying it on on the basis of what someone else will pay on the day. Your "securing" some unpriced seed will not get you a good deal. I'd certainly not do it as an individual farmer. It's a recipie for a brutal bumming. You have no doubt planned an area for this and by spring you will take the terrible price or have to find another option.

Just a note if thought that we know that margins are slim in the merchanting job. If we are set for a tiny UK crop at high prices, be extra sure to check that you can get some trade credit insurance as the consequences of a tiny UK crop hurt everyone and at £200 a ton I'd want to be doubly sure that id see the dosh. Expect similar squeezes on farmers too re early fert orders .
