Just attended NRoSO saying spraying/spreading equipment mounted on seed drill will require operator to hold PA certificate for special equipment even if one already holds PA4G/PA4S comments please

It's not a new requirement from what I saw just pointing out the fact that many who use applicators on potato planters, as an example, don't actually have the right qualifications. PA4G/S covers standalone applicators or spreaders not mounted on other machinery such as a planter.

Mmmmm yes and no. PA 4s will cover you for a slug Pelleter mounted on a quad and PA 4g will cover you for an Avadex spreader mounted on a drill. They were describing a PA SC which is required as you say when putting monceren on a potato planter; or spraying amistar in furrow on a planter. Nemathorin on a planter however would be pa4g.

All of the above is irrelevant if you got your tickets years ago, as the bog standard pa4 granular applicator covers you for any type of granular applicator regardless of how it's mounted.
And sprayers mounted on a cultivator are covered by the standard pa2a.

That'll be for anyone who done the tickets pre June 94 as I believe I was in the final round of assessments that got

Pa1
Pa2a
Pa4
Pa6a
All included in the one assessment.
Those following had to do each one separately I believe.
They've been very good at inventing further assessments in the meantime.

I've got my PA12 test on Monday. PASC now needed for an in furrow sprayer on a planter, which used to be called something else. Jobs for the boys is all this, they know how to charge

When I contacted NRoSO they told me that they didn’t have any named assessors
They wouldn’t. It’s no different to booking any other PA certificate. If @Ebenezer Spud you don’t have a local training group; approach your local proficiency tests council who will have the necessary assessors on their books and will point you in the direction of relevant training if required.
