Pick ups

The faithful old ranger has died. Time for a replacement unfortunately. I’m not fussed on the newish rangers so thinking between an l200, an Isuzu, Nissan or a hilux. Will be somewhere round the 18 to 20 year mark. Would quite like to go auto. Just wondering thoughts and opinions. I’m not a popcorn man. Tea and biscuits will do.

Don't dismiss the amarok, great going pickup that tows well.

Never was fully convinced on the Nissan especially with the empty tri-axle Ifor, although I found Nissan and Charles Hurst great service as I had a few niggly problems.

Jalex has a few that are worth a look atm

If you’re intending working it hard and putting big miles on then there’s only the hilux or dmax to look at. Or 3.2 ranger if you can find one.

I run a 16 reg Nissan with tools on board since I had it. Auto box 190bhp model. Probably close to a ton in the back at all times. No issues. Had a 12 reg Hilux before that and would say the Nissan is a better truck.

Get a L200/Triton, bin the wellside deck and make a proper flat deck to suit.👌😁

2018 Navara auto here been near faultless in over 80k. Only had a sensor on the transfer box under warranty. Very comfortable and good on fuel as well.

Best truck i have had, would replace with another in due course but not available new anymore which is a real shame IMO

We changed from a 2008 l200 to a new navara auto last year think there’s about 16000 miles with about half of that towing a 14ft tuffmac the auto makes towing a pleasure and the navara holds the trailer so much steadier that the old l200. We’re I work abit has one of them 1.9 Isuzus blade and I find it so uncomfortable and bouncy and the gearbox alway seems to be searching for gears!

I was looking at Pick-ups on Trade Me yesterday, Bloody hell, old HiLux's are expensive.
What's the reason over there? The prices have got crazy here apparently due to the Ukrainians buying up lots of S/H pickups for military use. My old Ranger is apparently worth as much as when I bought it 18 years ago! :D

Just a popular simple vehicle that keeps going, I think.
No salt on the roads here so vehicles don't rot away. I don't think they get exported either, so once they're here, they're here until they die.
That's true of most cars, a lot of old stuff on the road.
Nice one owner 2001 here.
Strong money, but when todays brand new electric cars are finally scrapped, this will be towing the trailer that takes them to the dump (y)

Nah Yeah, I do know of Hilux's from NZ being exported to the Middle East and Hiace van's exported to Africa. Then there used to be a few shipped to the Islands too.
