Powering a milking parlour with solar/batteries

Thanks, it's interesting to have detail to see how change forms, esp in light of surge pricing becoming more likely in the next few years (predicted) which is why the devil is in the detail as to how folk can get by when there is even more demand for batteries to avoid premium prices per kWh drawn from the grid.

The more versatile you become now the less likely the struggle down the line, what with the factors of aging (extended life) nuclear power station fleets ,never mind the situation in Ukraine.

If i make a next move it will be likely to be a small turbine or hot water panel tbh

I've done a bit of looking into small turbines.

Payback on a 12kw is ~8 years at a healthy 30p electricity saving and also assuming there are no disasters.
3-6kw are more like 12-15 years.

Solar is just so much better value (un)fortunately. Especially to go oversized with battery storage to cope with night hours.

It has to be go big or go home with wind turbines.

The problem is theres not enough sun in winter in sunny costa del co antrim
