So, spoke to ED & F Man today about molasses tank mix to reduce scorch , very encouraging , and yes he is sellong the stuff !
But will post more when I know more.
Ironically the last application is showing very few signs of scorch !
We've got an IBC of the Gold Label mollasses product for this season. 5l/ha, seems to be working. Little scorch so far, smells great as well :D

Costs please ( just molasses )
£360 + VAT (1000L)
Gold label mollases! Great marketing.

Hows it different to normal stuff.
I've no idea whats in 'normal' mollases but this stuff has has small quantities of N, P, K, S, Mg, Z and is 30% carbon and 5% sugar. There is also a Black label product with higher levels of the nutrients and 42% sugar for applying pre-drilling.

How do you get these molasses to run? The stockfeed stuff I used to handle took ages to fill a bucket when mixing up TMR concentrates for the dairy cows.

I was a bit concerned but I can fill a 15L can out of the tap of the IBC in about 45 seconds, its thicker than water but not ridiculously thick that it doesn't flow.

The only pain has been waiting for tanker deliveries this year thanks to Yara's penny pinching on haulage rates so I will put up a few more tanks here for extra buffer storage
What is a good rule of thumb for tank capacity - what percentage of your annual fert consumption should you have storage for?

Somebody is being bent over and trousers taken down imo, I use stock feed with no problems and about half the price

Yara encourage you to have at least 50% of your peak spring demand on farm. I've just done the sums on autumn tank fill prices vs March/April top up. I paid £230/m3 of N32 for summer/autumn deliveries then £246/m3 for spring top up. That's a £16/m3 or £4384 difference on the volume I use, which covers the cost of £200/tank annual rental and the depreciation on the concrete pads & bunds.

Forgive the intrusion, I am keen to go to liquid, to allow me to confidently apply product to the edge of the field, and not in the hedge, but this thread does not fill me with confidence.
Sounds like everything is against it, nozzles, boom height, weather conditions, any 'good' experiences ?
I do this am on 20 m tramlines spray the outer 8 m higher rate on the outer 4m .Home mix urea and water apply using bubble jets waiting for calm day to put it on .Try to go in the evening

Just to confuse things a lot of stock feed molasses has urea added to increase the 'protein'. Like adding palm oil it makes the paper analysis look good.

Probably not very significant if you're only applying a few glugs/Ha.

Stupid question maybe, but does it keep for twelve months ok? Or do you have to aim to have none left over at the end of each season?

I try and run stocks down but usually have a bit left over. Sometimes the game covers need a bit so I run a surplus. The N+S stuff I use keeps ok. I think some of the NPK ones can separate out a bit.
