Mine says 52 and 55

There was some bags of Irina on the same lorry which had a tgw of 52.

I had to buy some extra seed last year, after Planet was sold out locally, so had 8ac of Irina. I wasn’t particularly impressed with it in the same field. It certainly tillered less and the sample was poorer on that patch (all grown as feed so went onto one heap).
Grown on the same land, and in the same drought, the Planet yielded better and the grain was bolder. Enough so that I ordered early to make sure i’d Secured enough Planet.

We grew propino for a while but it seemed to loose a lot of heads and struggled to find a market for it so went straight feed with Waggon which was good. Got some laurette in the ground this year so will see what it's like

I’ve grown propino for the last 4 seasons I have sold it for malting on contract for the first 3 seasons but not last year as there were no local contracts but managed to sell it in December to go on a boat with 1.9n so I cannot complain about it.
I am changing to planet this year as agronomist says it will stand better and yield more than propino. There are no local contracts available for planet or propino so I’ll just grow it for feed and see what the n tests like at harvest

Looks good
Thinking of going at 175kg/ha 52TGW seed
Driiled with Mtzuri next week hopefully

Not sure if i should up the seed rate?
Next door neighbour drilled planet with 52tgw three days after that field with a Mzuri but must have been deeper drilled as not emerged yet. He’s trying variable rate compared to 185kg/ha farm standard.

What would the ideal TGW be?
Have you planted yet?

Bolder is supposed to have more vigour, but all the shed bits of tail corn seems to grow behind the combine so......

Not planted as there are sheep still grazing most of the fields yet. The bits that’s cleared is far too cold/wet yet imo. Needs to warm up yet, so it doesn’t sit there feeding rooks.

Be interesting to compare .
We power harrow drill most crops but
have a neighbour with a Mtzuri do some when we're busy with other work.
The Autumn drilled crops seem to tiller out and fill the rows ok but bit sceptical
about spring crops doing the same.

How do people find the Mtzuri for drilling spring barley?
Just been used for winter crops here so far.
Neighbours crops of spring barley last year were slower to emerge but maybe deeper drilled compared to my Horsch sprinter. They were even and the seed boots now sow wider rows than an earlier version. I don’t know about yield comparison but from over the hedge it looked similar to mine last year. The previous year the seed rows left wider gaps which were evident at harvest and I didn’t think it would have yielded so well. I don’t think you can force a wet seedbed from his comments. Just need to be patient.

Similar here but hopefully move the tegs on soon.
