I have banked with Lloyds for 45 years, the Level of service has deteriorated over the last five years, I have been moved to a belligerent Edinburgh round table of cheap salaried degree holders. I wished to renew a one year lapsed 50k overdraft facility to buy a few secondhand lorrys that are coming off fleet renewal and have a temporary cash flow v outgoing equation issue, Lloyds need £300 to get a re evaluation of a rental property they held/ hold a charge over, the property was last evaluated 10 years ago, i do not know of many houses that have devalued in the last ten years! Between that and no manager and sitting on hold for 20 minutes whenever you ring I have had enough. Please is there anybody who feels they are still receiving a level of service from their bank but without the ten million pound turnover?

Them were the days , remember my manager charging me 24% on an overdraft .
😀 mine must of been similar just I never asked, the manager during that period got moved to the non lending/ pension role, I don’t do not think everybody repaid his generosity, shortly afterwards was the period of the one year manager then shuffle.

You're in Wiltshire aren't you?

Barclays if you want a relationship manager, NatWest if you just want to do it all online.

We are Lloyds currently. Unsure for how much longer though. Had 5 different managers in 10 years. First two were brilliant. They were very interested and involved in farming. Last 3 absolutely awful. One of which they are still chasing I think for fraud. He did a runner and went abroad. Makes me laugh really their role is ‘relationship manager’. Surely they would require some ag knowledge to do this. Or at least want to learn.

Ring and organize meetings with as many different banks as you can, you interview them not the other way about. In my quite limited but not exactly green behind the ears experience they are all fairly similar. Ask for the decision maker/s to be present during your the interview, zoom call whatever it is. You don't want a a line manager who has to go to someone above to get the ok. I'm looking for a bank right now as well and I am playing hardball because I've nothing to lose. My bank manager rang a few weeks ago, when they heard we were thinking of leaving (ulster bank) wanting to know if there was anything they could do for us.
Edit: they did seem like they wanted to be a bit more flexible.
