Evening all need a bit of advice got some ground reseeded last September on probably the last dry day there was. Now the issue I had then was there was no fertiliser applied as it was to be sown following day! Never happened! Grass has came up mostly. My question is what bag stuff does it need. 20/10/10?

That unfortunately is the problem as I cant get it checked now. It had 2 tonne to the acre as was directed after the previous sampling the year before but that result is in a safe place somewhere

Afternoon everyone quick question with this lack of rain hopefully coming to an end can anyone tell me the fertiliser sown on 8th April was still visible on the surface will it have lost its potency and be wasted? Also I usually allowed 6 weeks or so from sowing to cutting but as it hasn't really been absorbed to date would it be sensible to allow 6 weeks or so from whenever it rains?

Due to dry hot time, most of the N will have been lost to the atmosphere, I would wait until it rains then apply N only.

there will still be a fair bit left, losses range from 10-30% depending on nitrogen source, most of the losses occur in the first 14 days.

Well now some photos for options as its going to need sprayed for weeds as well as I see some small docks in it I'm guess Leystar is the go to at the moment unfortunately there is no grazing option either. Hopefully it will thicken up a bit bare in places:(

Need a closer photo really. Looks a bit sporadic and patchy but never mind.

Leystar could be used but I can't see what else is there. Headland Polo + hatchet in tank mix may suffice as well if you can get it, depends what other weeds are there. Think I can see mouse ear in it.

So we will miss first cut, get soil test done for P and K, I would say max 50 units N for what will be 'second' cut now and leave it a good 30 days after spreading. Grass should have picked it all up by then. You can always nitrate test the grass before cutting if you are nervous.

If nothing else 3 cwt of 20.10.10 would be the fudge-it option.
