Got the 398 practically finished, been an on going project from November, still few things I'd want to do if I decide to keep it, eg front mudguards, new rubber around nose cone and Id like to fit the other roof top with the lights built in front and back.

What price is the rubber? I saw one advertised for £60. I've a notion of selling it but I've a ts115 and I've considered selling it and keeping the 398, there such a simple tractor with not a lot to go wrong and lively too as they don't have clutch packs etc to fill for every gear.

Takes time and money, although the 398 was actually a pleasure to do, I tidied up my 7610, it's can didn't seem too bad but once I started stripping it down the rot was everywhere, stood a lot of welding and grinding and then filling! The Massey needed very little that way, bottom of door and a little on the cab floor where you'd be climbing in. I really enjoy this kind of work, would struggle with the internal mechenics but, eg gear boxes, engine re builds etc, don't know how you do it yourself and with such a wide variety of tractors.

Thankyou im not that good with modern stuff to be honest we try not to do tractors after late 90s just because the electric can take a fair chunk of a budget with very little show for cost.
Its all about learning if you get a workshop manual and follow it there just abig mechano set really just rust thats the killer and timely but has to be right to acheive a perfect end result
