But a 110 TD5 you can go to any standard filling station and have full capacity again within 10 minutes. Where do you go and sit for 1 hour with your Rivian and Ifor Williams fully loaded with sheep to charge?
I wouldn’t, as I cannot possibly think of any time I would be travelling that far with my sheep. For one thing, I don’t have a licence to transport animals that far and no desire to get one or do it.

Your assuming you always go straight from fully charged to hauling sheep. If you have been using the truck all day then have to go haul to the killing house end of the day for next mornings Kill it could get tricky.
They are going to be a play thing until things get seriously built out. Unfortunately Nicola Stalin is more obsessed with banning than building at the moment.

Caravans are being developed with their own battery powered helper wheels to take the load off the tow vehicles battery.
Cant be a cheap fix though. The idea is the battery also acts as a home powerbank when you not enjoying your lovely caravan experience

I never assume anything, but I know from all my years of farming so far that I have never exceeded 100 miles towing in a day. It's reasonable to extrapolate that for the rest of my years a range of almost twice that would be plenty.

quite common here now for people with caravans & motorhomes ( which are generally well set up with solar panels, battery storage & 240 V inverters ) to use them to provide power to their shed, their workshop, recharge cordless tools etc etc

Great idea to have electric drive to the trailer wheels as well, no need to be limited to “conventional” ideas
