Round baler trade in price

Getting quotes to trade in my low bale count 2015 krone comprima f155xc, been offered £12000 for it from local dealer and would have to put £17000 towards a new kuhn fb3130. doesnt sound the best deal to me, any thoughts appreciated. Dont really want to get in a best baler argument though!

The krones got 3000 on the counter but its done around 7-8000 as it had a new box on a couple of years ago. we got a good deal on it originally as it was a cancelled order at our local dealer who no longer do krone. Its a good baler but a little over the top for what we want, we only ever do 4 foot bales and its a big machine for our narrow lanes and small fields. I dont do as many bales as i used to and wanted a baler now i could keep for quite a few years, the belts failing on the krone worry me a bit. We never seem to have much luck selling privately with tyre kickers and the like, but i know the krone is worth more than £12000. I'll get some more quotes in the new year now i think. If he had offered £17000 for the krone and £12000 towards a new one i would have shook his hand!

would have thought you would not get a lot more for the Comprrima. We have run Krone for 25 or more years we do get excellent back up from Sharnford tractors and would go to another manufacturer if not for them . 25000 bales is enough for the belt system on them. to replace rear trace would be over 5000 and down for 3 or 4 days .but fast strong generally a descent machine

£29k for a round baler and there’s no money in farming madness!

it's the way of it though.....more productive machines that cost more but there's the vain hope (?)....that the extra productivity out weighs the cost......classic is sugar beet harvesting....when beet were £30/t we all ran round in cheapy single rows or a contractor charged £45.....then tims arrived....i bought good s/h one for £1250....contractor was £65/ac......now beet are £20/t ...harvesters cost £400k and contractors charge £100ac......makes no sense :scratchhead:

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
