Rtk unlock for Fendt516 recommendations.

Have had quotes for Rtk unlock from two Fendt dealers but was wondering if I can go to a non Agco source for a more competitive quote? I

Which make of receiver is it? I recall from forum posts that Fendt have switch between using different brands a time or two. Probably worth a call to the right flavor of GPS specialists to see what they can do.

Can get Novatel or Trimble .

Fendt rep was telling me Novatel is cheaper and better.

Novatel now owned by CNH so doubtful it's still a option. Trimble owned by AGCO

Trimble on our Fendt, got RTK sim card from new Holland dealer. Just switched SIM from NH tractor that used to do drilling.

I’m pretty sure it can only be unlocked by a Fendt technician as they get the unlock code from Fendt then plug their laptop into the tractor to give it a software update.
Don’t think the make of receiver will make any difference. Had 3 of our tractors upgraded to rtk in the past and all my dealer needed to know was the receiver serial number to get the unlock code from Fendt.

Mine was done last year on 724 with topcon ag4i took them an hr to do it easy and no Fendt dealer involvement

So are they all fitted with a modem, receiver to accept SIM card, rtk etc from the factory?

When I was having problems I was told to check it has aerial and 2 fins on roof to receive RTK.

The SIM card goes in the vd04. If they have varioguide they have a vd04 or the previous vd03.

the 2 fins have nothing to do with rtk. They are there for machine telemetry with Fendt connect through the acm (agco connectivity module)

Mine does not have an ariel but is currently running on Terrastar . Dose this mean I can get Novotel or whoever to unlock it for Rtk or do I need to get Fendt dealer to do it?

Terrastar is just a name of a correction source. You will need an aerial tho and possibly the aerial cable and aerial base depending on the age of your tractor. Newer profi + tractors have everything but the actual rubber aerial fitted as standard.

I do not think Fendt fit Topcon any more or surport it , so that will be why fendt had nothing to do with it ,

Fendt dealer is only option
