How do the hobbyists get signed off without a crush? Surely vet from the department has to say they've inspected it (and seen the receipt so they know you've not borrowed a neighbours) before giving you a herd number? That's what we have in Northern Ireland. Can't get a cattle number without a crush.
🤣🤣🤣, not a chance here of that, here normally they try and do them behind a gate 🙈

I can house cattle . Will see if I can get Defra to amend grazing dates .
Oh yes , answering above comments , I will be talking to vet but wanted to go to the meeting with some ideas of my own as I m sure SOME vets would say they need heaps of treatments/ vaccinations but obviously everyone comes at a cost.
Thanks for replies everyone.

Cost of death, thats something most of dont even think about, we were never vaccinated for BVD until one BVD. Persistant infector from four miles away broke into our farm, that caused the death of over four hundred pedigree cows in our dairy herd, this nearly broke me, if i had not spent the previous twenty six years buying our farm i would have been out on my butt, if you have any cattle on your farm to anyone out there, PLEASE HELP YOURSELF AND THE INDUSTRY AND VACCINATE!!!!!!!
