Slurry wizard accuracy

I’ve taken the plunge and moved from loose straw to cubicles and have just built a new concrete store that should have 6 1/2 months storage based on high yielding cows producing 1.92m3 a month as per the slurry wizard.

Probably should have asked this before building the store but what do people think about the figure of 1.92m3 a month for 11,000L cows? Always presumed they would have overestimated the figure and hope I’m not wrong 😁

Depends where you’re to & if you have NVZ’s/closed periods to contend with but one of the most important things is you’ve kept the people with clipboards happy. Wouldn’t say its over estimated. Might be about right if it’s only slurry & no other water of any type going in.
Nothing you can do about it now without a big chunk of money. Put some measurements on the wall & you’ll be able to monitor how accurate it is & be able to guesstimate fairly early on how many months it will hold.

Brilliant 🤦‍♂️ hopefully it’s not as rainproof as I think 😂
Total containment here of everything from fully housed milking cows, robots & dairy. No rainwater (other than what blows in the shed) & its fine. Wouldn’t want it any thicker for grass ground. Slurry on its own can easily get too thick. Waiting to roof in a concrete store, youngstock slurry only, no outside yards, drains or any other water going into it. But have the option of pumping to or from an earth bank lagoon to make it thinner.
