Small diet feeder

After this virus job settles down, I will be in the market for a small diet feeder for feeding sheep. Ideally an 8 or 10m machine with weighing and two doors. It will need to be very clean and not killed with work. I don’t need it to the back end but often easier to find these things out of season. Please bear me in mind. Thanks

We’ve got a strauttman very well made chops up bales for fun and takes no powering what was ever

only issue I’ve found is ripping the silly curtains on the side of it on a few tight doorways but that’s more my fault

How big is it......if you pardon the expression. ?How big do you think I will need to chop and mix 2 round bales at a time

Havnt a clue I’ll look at the model number when I’m next in my grandads yard :ROFLMAO:

it’s the right size for 2 silage bales tho as you want it a bit bigger than you think so you don’t end up with it throwing half a bale over the top

We are limited a bit for height if I want to feed ewes in our polytunnels but a 10 will go in no bother

Just had a look but the twin looks to be too long for some of our tight feed passages with 90degree turns at the end☹️

Saw a Redrock Trioliet 900 working on a farm recently. Small yard, reversing around corners down dead-end feed passages it was a perfect match and sounds like what you're after.

Are you going down the TMR road? If you are I would interested to know how you get on

Yep that’s the plan, just to stop having to hump a lot of feed into bags everyday.....not getting any younger?
Wasn’t wanting to spend too much money in case it doesn’t work......well that’s the theory anyway

Yes that sounds ideal, there is a nice one down south at a company called Energis, but never heard of them tbh

What width is the passage in the tunnels? Mate of mine is trying to sell me a couple of them but when you put a passage in they seem small. What size are they roughly and how many can you house in them? Sorry if I am hijacking your thread

30foot wide and 90 foot long, passage about 10 foot wide, but only goes a third down the tunnel and then walk through feeders to the bottom. We put 100 big texel ewes in each one but they would easily carry 150 with tmr as you don’t need as much feeding space

The paint seems to hold up well on any Trioliets I've seen. They also have a wear strip around the bottom few inches of the tub which should extend life important when buying used.
