You likely need new dampers on the boom.
Plus the rubber mounts, and generally set the booms up correctly.
I had a Bateman engineer do mine a couple years ago, made a huge difference to the way the boom behaved.
Wish I'd payed more attention to what he was doing.
Currently waiting for it to be done again.
Seems pretty slow getting an engineer out this time.

we used to change dampers and rubber blocks on our bateman every year and have them adjust the springs etc at service 1000hr / annual

Phone them up and ask for instructions and settings. They're very helpful. I seem to remember that the official settings for the yaw adjusters was "bloody tight"!

The field had Broadway star @0.265kg ha with bio power on the 12th April, there was a frost that night. Then did the PGR, fungicide, manganese a week later. Water volume was 130L/ha

I think I was driving too fast too probably Up to about 13km, this is a fairly heavy field and was ploughed and power harrowed in November.

It’s only done one season, so should be ok wear wise. The boom does seem very wobbly compared to my old Hardi trailed sprayer.

Definitely yaw. It reduces as the booms settle down further up the field. Those tramlines aren't 24m wide either.

I'd spend a bit of time setting up your section control too. There's more overlap than needed at the ends. What correction signal does your Bateman have? If it's Egnos only there's a limit to how far you can cut your on/off lead times unless you're upgrading to a better signal. It also requires consistency of speed in & out of headlands - my Topcon controlled sprayer works on time not distance so rapid changes in speed near the ends varies the overlaps/misses. Does the operator travel at different speeds in different crops like spuds?

I'm not trying to be too critical - we had a new trailed sprayer 2 years ago & it took a while to set up the on/off times. Despite a good correction signal (Starfire 3) we still get overlap damage. Some liquid N scorch really shows up. There's a lot of it about even on farms with GPS.

Yes Egnos @Brisel I think I’ll alter the outs by 1/2 second. And keep the speed down to about 10km. My old Fendt and hardi were better at regulating the speed as I just used to knock it over to the pre set cruise speed, and pull back on the ends. I find with With the Bateman the speed and pressure alter quite a bit when using the hand throttle, you can’t set it to a certain point.

You should be able to set up sensitivity and the way it reacts to speed changes in the agleader surely ?

If the sprayer is new has the boom ever been set up and adjusted after initial 50hrs etc ? First few hours would be bedding in so adjustment probably a good idea even if quite new

Really does look like classic boom yaw in the pattern

No, hasn’t been touched since delivery. Still waiting for all the mods that were promised.......

With a basic contour boom its easy enough to change the rubber 'indespension' units. We do ours about every 1000 hrs. I don't know much about the VG boom if that's what you have.

One other thing to consider, are you sure that it's switching out rear wheel steering when actually spraying, rear wheel steering will unsettle the boom and exaggerate boom yaw.
