Supersteer or not

Valtra call it fast steer which is basically the same, half a turn of the wheel is full lock and you can adjust the sensitivity
You are confused. Super steer turns the axle as well as the wheels to give a 65 degree steering angle. Valtra don't have that! Fast steer is a copy of New Hollands steering system to go to full lock at half a turn of steering wheel.

supersteer is to allow tighter turns at row ends, NOT faster response or less movement of steering wheel

so, comments about it not being suitable for less experience drivers, or "ladies", on roads or around the yard, are both wrong AND sexist . . .

as i said, I had an 8970 Genesis with it that i did over 8000 hrs with

didnt know it was ever on the little ones

only seen it on the original Genesis & the T8

when i bought the 8970 i was running 8 metre linkage planters, so the tighter turn back into the row was an advantage,
when i bought the T8040, i was planning on moving to 12 metre gear, so tight turning wasnt as big a priority compared to having front suspension

That looks like it would be great on a front mower

We owned 4 tractors with super steer. They never had a spammer on them. Oldest tractor (tm130) had 6000 hours on it when it was sold. At that stage we ran a lot of 3 meter gear eg power Harrow. The super steer saved time in the headlands.
I found them good on hill work too.
Have since gone to bigger gear and found that the turning circle of the nh with front suspension is good enough.
Horses for courses, but well worth looking at for tight turning jobs.

Yes i drove a tm 135 with it. Brilliant job for tight gates. As some on here will know im not a nh fan but supersteer is probably the only thing that would make me want 1

One added advantage of the NH SUPERSTEER was that when backing up to an implement, if you were slightly off centre, by swinging the steering wheel you could move the drawbar or 3pt linkage to the left or right to line things up, similar ( but obviously not as extreme ) to an articulated tractor 👍
But a pain in the ar$e on a loader tractor when trying to fit attachments

probably, but then, that wasn’t the application it was bought for

Not having even thought about putting a loader on one till now, the movement of the front axle only comes into play at near full lock, so until then it shouldn’t be any different ?

not that it matters really. If it’s no good for loader work, then don’t buy it for that . . .

Having used big articulated loaders, I’ve actually found being able to move the steering from side to side actually makes it easier to pick up attachments

horses for courses & also personal preferences I suppose

But if you are near the attachment and its slightly to the left ,you steer right to push the loader to the left then drive forward and the tractor drives to the right:banghead:
