T6 180 re map.

I've got a 2 yr old t6 180 which is just a bit underpowered to cope with the single row bedtiller. Was thinking of getting it remapped to give me another 10% hp. Will it stick the extra load? Am I mad? I know I'll be told to buy a bigger tractor but I like the t6 size. Its hand on the sprayer / fert spinner etc.
I put the t7 200 on the bedtiller instead the other day and I couldn't believe how easily it coped. I was up 2 gears and it wasn't even puffing. There's only meant to be 25 hp difference but it felt like 50.
The t7 is usually on the rotovator and discaerator.

I will be interested in what you do, I have a T6.180 that I pull 4 metre kuhn espro drill with but I don't have quite enough poke! As its only 140hp I think without pto! Dealer has quoted £1000 to put steinbauer chip to make it a constant 180hp, was wondering about diesel doctor??

I have a T6090 which is I think the earlier model, 165 and 190 boost, had mine remapped to 185hp and 240 boost. I used Avon Tuning, goes very well, only have it on the combi for PTO work and am the driver so dont flog it to death.

I remember getting a brand new 8340 for the season and it going on a dowdswell bed tiller. How is 180hp now not enough. Not stirring just asking
I don't know!! We've got the bedtiller geared down fairish. And we used to put a tm 140 on the bedtiller. Trouble is the t6 is too fast in bottom gear. It hasn't got creep. For some reason it's faster in bottom than the t7. Probably cos the t7 has an extra 2 gears.

I thought you could chip them so it still got the boost if you see what I mean

My rep is not overly keen for me to do it but knows we won't push it too much and are pretty careful on the kit.
Folks have been tweaking the pumps on tractors for years. It can be very costly these days though on modern engines if it goes wrong.

I take it its sle tranny? I wouldnt want to be puttin more hp thru it cause 180 is already nearly to much
Yeah it's got 2 lots of 4 gears in bottom range then push the stick forward for 8 more plus 50 k gear.
This is what's concerning me. The tractor is already the highest rated in the range. So will it cope with anymore hp? But then again, what harm can another 10% do?

Is the boost light coming on when you are bed tilling?

Not unless they have made changes.
The Puma range mirrors the heavier New Holland T7 range, so Range-command, Power-command and Auto-command
Looked at one at midlands machinery show in Newark back in November, same layout as a maxxum and salesman said it was the same gearbox and was only available up to 165.
I haven’t a clue but I’d hope someone who sells Case would know, perhaps it’s just as well he’s not local to here.

Otherwise yes, I thought the T7/Pumas were essentially the same underneath.

Dont understand this? I bedtill with a tm 140, when I go up gears the bed tiller lifts out of the bed so have to slow down again. Used to bedtill with a same 90 and never was lacking in power

I wonder if they will make a T6.200 in the future. With the dynamic command and some beefy wheels/tyres it would be the pick of the range even stealing the majority of T7.210 sales

They in effect did with the T6090, not many of them about, think everyone bought T6080's and remapped them. Mine used to boost at all times for some reason regardless of what work it was doing, and at that hp it was a bloody handy tractor to use. Service bod put his laptop on it and then it only boosted when it should have done, so got it remapped. Great tractor with that hp. No issues at all (touch wood!) But wanting to get a T7.245 but the dealer is still in cloud cuckoo land re pricing an ex demo version. But there is a place not far away that has a few ex hire ones in with 800-1000hrs on at sensible money.
