Hi all, looking for some advice please.
Having some difficulty with twin lamb, had 5 cases in 48 hours in freshly housed ewes.
Details
Problem specifically in twins. No issues in trips or singles. Twins were on good quality stubble turnips until last Weekend (2 weeks out from lambing) started feeding 19% rolls 2 weeks out from housing to get them onto it (4 weeks from lambing)
Twins are getting 0.6kg/head/day split into 2 feeds. Rolls are fed out on the bedding with plenty of space for feeding. Hay is adlib at the feed barrier and a ring feeder. The ewes are in good condition. They have access to crystalyx high energy. I have noticed a few shyer ones not as keen on the rolls.
Once the twin lamb is spotted I've been treating with glycerol in warm water which is pulling them round in a couple of doses.
The question is, is there anything else that I could look at as a prevention at this stage? Or is it just that transition period which should hopefully pass?
TIA
