In view of the SFO's failure in the Tesco Director's fraud case where the trial was halted by the judge before conclusion on the basis of the prosecution evidence, the defence for one of the Directors claimed "given it's status as the UK's leading investigator of serious and complex fraud the SFO made basic mistakes -- amongst others failing to undertake any forensic analysis of underlying accounting evidence".

Nothing new there with the SFO as far as Toad's "clients" are concerned, they conveniently couldn't identify fraudulent practices presented to them on a plate, on a sample basis.

Do we therefore assume this knighthood is a reward for failure as this comes after the failed Barclay's prosecution? As for Toad the recipient of this honour passed judgement amongst others that if any fraud is present it wasn't large enough in terms of their remit to act, endorsing the conclusion of A & S who did not investigate the complaints in the first instance!!!

Yes it's silly season, Christmas the time of pantomime, but in the case of the SFO the silly season is 12 months of the year it would appear. :scratchhead:

How much reliance can you put on the FOS website

https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/wrong-account-payments.htm

I only ask as according to this if I read it right then if I received 29198 paid into my bank account I would have to repay it but it should be interest free over a period of time.
Don't know if Together/Blemain etc have as much influence on the FOS as the mainstream lenders, but they certainly seem to fail when it comes to industry codes:sneaky:

They certainly had influence first time around as FOS would not touch my case with a barge pole as it was deemed to be an unregulated loan. Now that the judge has ruled that the agreement did not take effect due to the lender not signing I am left with a payment into my bank account now obviously made by the lenders own error.
