UTTO Prices

I needed some oil for the back end of my Kubota after a few days of tipping muck with the leaky old dump trailer.... I know, I know! I should fix it, but it will an absolute ballache!

So as it was raining, I popped into Shrewsbury to Battlefield Tractors and asked for and received a 20l drum of generic UTTO, not I hasten to add, the overpriced Kubota stuff, and then looked at the invoice on my way out. 46 quid. Hmmm I thought, I need some more, I wonder what it will cost me off the internet...

Bloody hellfire, the Dealer was cheaper than online, other then the trundle into town. :)

Kubota super UDT is £76.40 per 20 litres, bought a can yesterday, JCB oil prices are really crazy though!

I bought some gear oil for about 48 for 25l, which was ok but thought i would treat the quad bike at the same time, so got some 4 stroke engine oil 5 l , bill come the other day £32 for 5 lites.

IKWYM, I buy the oil for my motorbikes in 20l drums now, and it is a fraction of the local Dealer prices for 4-5l!! Just have to be careful with wet clutches! :)

10W-30 super universal, top quality, bought day before yesterday for £345 for 205 litre drum. Might be a 200 litre though, I forgot to ask. Assuming 200 litres for simple maths, that's 10 of 20 litre small drum's worth at £34.50 each.

Always a big saving from buying in bulk. Super Universal 15w/30 is generally cheaper than 10w/30 and both are cheaper than 10w/40 super universal which was quoted at £375. Didn't get a price for UTTO but super universal is compatible anyway and UTTO is usually the most expensive, probably about the same price as 10w/40, or a bit more. Seldom less.

Agree, it's just that with 4 different farm vehicles, all specifying different products (engines all get the same oil now, mind!) and I don't do big hours, bulk is not the appeal it used to be.

Take it back and say it is the wrong sort....

Well, not a porky, it is too expensive, so is the wrong sort!
Most of the oil is in the bike now, i suppose i did it myself so saved a bit there. The problem is, when your in the stores getting these bits and pieces, you don,t like asking what,s the price for this to many times, makes you sound like a right tight ass. But i fu'cking hate being over charged.
