Very true.Would it not be possible to get a replacement bonnet in the same colour from a breaker. I realise you are remote but it might easier and cheaper than getting yours repaired.

Believe me, I am racking my brains! It sounds like a simple fix. At least these problems keep the brain working! Can’t you transport the bonnet to the repairer by some other means?
The radio aerial is also broken....If it’s fitted it has to work .
so if it’s not there ., and therefore can’t work
A bit woke to me this thread
Hell I wouldn’t have thought about such a thing I would’ve just jumped in and brought it home probably listening to the engine roar and thought by this grand.Having a bonnet on your car is woke?
I’d have done the same tbh. Especially in Scottish highlands rather than driving through a city centre.Hell I wouldn’t have thought about such a thing I would’ve just jumped in and brought it home probably listening to the engine roar and thought by this grand.
Would probably be a better fit than originalJust cut an appropriate sized piece of plywood to fill the space while you’re getting it fixed. Couple of brass fittings to secure it all, bit of varnish, would look pretty classy
Not going to help you with the bonnet but there's other option on the panel work .....Not sure where to put this, but here goes anyway!
Is it a legal requirement to have body panels on a licensed vehicle on the road? The bonnet of my Land Rover has a dent in one corner where it landed after the wind blew it off. (Rusted release catch). The local body shop says they can repair it at a reasonable cost. As the experts will know, it is easy enough to remove the bonnet off a Land Rover by opening it wide and simply lifting it off.
So here is the problem. If I take the bonnet off and leave it with the auto repair guy for repair, is it legally OK for me to drive it home without the bonnet? Nobody seems to know and I am pretty sure the cops will just take the easy way out and say it's illegal if I ask them! (I suppose I could claim it has only just blown off! ).
Does anyone know? A legal reference would be nice, but that's maybe asking too much!
basically yes.d.v.s.a wording is likely to cause an injury when grazed or contactedSharp edges or anything likely to (further) injure a pedestrian is the criteria I believe.
Isn't that way the Silver Lady has been modified on a Rolls Royce (not speaking from personal experience )
Just fix the dent yourself. There's plenty of tutorials on Youtube...Not sure where to put this, but here goes anyway!

An email is winging it's way to the appropriate bureaucrats even as I type. I am a great believer in making them work.basically yes.d.v.s.a wording is likely to cause an injury when grazed or contacted
