If one had an 8 wheel tipper and one took the body off and fitted a flat for straw would it be higher than a 6 wheeler and would it be any good ? Springs verses air etc ? What length of flat could you get on a 8 wheele v 6 ? Stupid idea or not just id like a tipper and a flat and dont want two trucks ? Mad or perfectly feasible ?

8 wheeler tipper bodies are usually around the 21’ mark.

Best way is a front ram tipper body on its own frame on twist locks,I’ve a stainless tank on my 6 wheeler fitted with twist locks,I’m on the lookout for a front ram tipping body because it’s easier to fit with twist locks rather than pîssing about with tipping gear between the chassis, also having the tipper removed means you reduce the height for a flat etc.

Bloke up here has tipper with fold down sides seems to work well as he’s on his 3rd or 4th one. Sides fold down and the float fits on top not exactly sure how it works but he seems able to go from flat to tipper to float very quickly.
