Anyone on here got a weidermann 5080t pivot steer ? What’s your experience of them? And anybody ever pulled a trailer with them ? Thanks

I bought a used one last year. It’s 2016 with 4500 hrs. It kind of replaced my Matbro ( still here). I liked it partly because it came with a Euro carriage so made my loader attachments more useful. They are not the easiest to get in and out of unless your a contortionist, mine is a very rough ride and much narrower than the Matbro. It’s output for a smaller machine has been impressive. In the last year I have had 4 hoses burst which I thought unusual on a young ( by my standards) machine, I did notice recently that the book says to change all flexible hoses after 6 years! No wonder it got part exed 😂. It does have a locking diff which can be helpful but it’s no where near as good in the field as the Matbro, possibly partly due to low and wide flotation type tyres.

I don’t think that I wouldn’t buy another. I don’t hate it and it is way way faster than the old Matbro but I think unless space was an issue I would look at either a JCB or a Schaffer.

Thanks for that , it’s either a new weidermann or second hand jcb 320 with low hours however jcb looks a fair lump for around the yard so currently undecided 🙈

What size tyres did your Matbro have 16.9*24 Agri tyres V 550/45 R22.5 flotation

all about putting the power down without tearing up the field

Have a.4080 here and would probably get another
It’s the same dimensions as the 5080 but would think it’s quite a bit smaller than the Jcb depends on your sheds also have never towed with mine only has a fixed hitch

On another note, it does suffer from a few regular error codes. This one has just popped back on.

We upgraded our Terex 250 to a Schaffer and have been through a series of them now, 910, 8090T and still have a 9530T and little 2345. Very reliable machine, cabs are a bit grey but decent Deutz/Kubota engines. Not good for towing but no hydrostatic will be. Becoming quite popular over here for people replacing Matbro TR200/250 size machines but not wanting the size of the JCB 320 though we demoed the 320 and it was a good machine but heavy and too big.

Schaffers look good however our dealer said there struggling to get them currently and the wait is long

Really like our 2016 5080t, very nimble around tight yards and effortless to drive thanks to fully locking diff, thus no resistance to turning like with limited slip diffs, also makes for no tyre scrub so plenty of tread left on original tyres at 5500hrs.
Pipes do all start going at 5000hrs like said above and it's nothing to wait over a month for parts if they have to come from Germany and not the UK.
would have another for sure but would try and find one with the upgraded aircon because the standard air con is next to useless.
Never towed as only a fixed hitch but it does have some serious pushing power thanks to hydrostatic drive.
The left pedal is a mixing pedal taking oil from the drive to the boom the more you press it making for effortless / smooth loading compared to a torque convertor , no fighting it on the brakes or jerky neutral buttons . Down side is it won't coast like a TC and is noisier on the road.
Cab has built in jack to tip it over which makes access for repairs and service a dream and paintwork is very good too which may not be the case with JCB.
These machines have the capacity in between a jcb 220 and 320 but is nimbler than both and far more engine power than a 220.
