Last Summer/ Autumn I sowed over 150 acres of herbal ley with a slug pelleter.
Most importantly it was effective.
3 times over but at least I was doing 20 km/h

Yes I know I was mad but I didn’t want to risk losing a fields worth first time round with the spinner.
Neither did I want to use either our Rapid or Weaving drill as I didn’t want it in rows.

Light disc then blow it onto the surface with my Horsch sprinter. Set the coulters 8-12 inches off the ground and turn the fan up, then roll in.

Ive also used a Fiddle.Vicon Wagtail and an Acord as well as the contractors machines shown
Results are more or less the same although i prefer broadcasting to drilling where possible.
But its pretty irrelevant how its spread
The important part is how its put in or not

We did a 20 acre field with a Stewardship mix this year with our Amazone 24m pneumatic spreader, which we use for Avadex applications on our cereal ground. We swapped the rollers out for the fert rollers to help the flow of seed and it worked a treat. Nice even cover, corner to corner. Rolled pre and post spreading and has come about well.
