Yellowstone TV series

Just watched an episode, the cattle died because someone threw clover bales out of an aeroplane, and the cattle got bloat. John Dutton said, we will have to burn the field to stop the clover seeding. Is clover so bad in the USA? I try to encourage clover on my fields, and feel a bit miffed if there isn't lots of it here!
No. It is not bad in the USA. That is just TV. Head scratching most of the time.

Clover can cause bloat. In a bale of hay that would be a stretch. Once animals are no longer naive to it, it is not a problem as it stands in a field. I graze sheep every year on 100% pure clover fields and never had a issue and I do not add anti-bloat formulas to their water or provide it in a block.

Start slow if you are unsure.

Er….. I thought he said lucerne? Now I’m going to have to check :X3:

Mind, hearing and understanding what any of them are saying is quite the project. I have to provide constant commentary to my wife as she’s no idea what anyone’s saying.

I went to see the Doctor yesterday, she was an Indian doctor, she said, why have you had these blood tests, I replied, if you buy a horse the vet gives it a certificate of soundness, this is my equivalent, she had no idea what I was talking about and asked if I was a vet! She knew what each word I said meant, but we had intercultural communication problems. Sort of same happens watching yellowstone, I sometimes wonder what happened there!

They will bend the truth to fit in with the storyline, make things more dramatic.

I've only seen the first series but I remember one scene where they're driving through the cows, screech to a halt, grab a calving jack out the back, and sprint 30 yards to a cow calving on the open range.
They pull the 'calf' out and the shot cuts to a week old calf running away with it's tail in the air

Ken Loach makes 'real' drama. Its usually boring. War movies bear no reality to war, cop dramas no reality to policing.

That clip is only funny because its true.

I didn't think that it was clover either, but then again I do have trouble understanding everything that's said

You have to remember that this is a FICTIONAL drama series and it's written so that at least every other episode has a "cliffhanger ending" in order to get the viewers back. Happy to admit i'm a fan and, maybe this is a bit sad to admit, i'm watching a total re-run of all the series via the Paramount subscription channel.
Also, the series is the idea of Taylor Sheridan, a Texas rancher's son, who also directed, and wrote most of the episodes.
