Do aha rents have to fall? I was led to believe they were linked to productivity, rather than profitability........

Don't think many aha rents went up when wheat went from £130 to £150. That's an £80/AC upward swing.....

I suppose there will be more variation between prime land and everything else, not everywhere enjoys the efficiencies of the vast arable plains of Lincolnshire. Small fields, awkward shapes, slow draining, narrow working windows, bad roads and slopes all gobble up profitIf you’re loosing £80 a off the top line yes rents have to fall

Prices for lamb and beef are good at the moment, people paying crazy money for breeding stock so can't see anyone taking any harm.

So payments to farmers are being reduced, and instead they are paying people to do "environmental goods" on land.
I might be wrong but isn't that just going to risk cutting out the middle man......

Landlords need not worry, @Bossfarmer has assured them (and everyone else) that rents will rise once BPS goes..........which is good news for me, I plan to rent my place out next year, I'll obviously be able to make a killing
