Friend with a 17 year old reckons they saved £600 by waiting 3 months after the lad passed his test, compared with getting cover straight away..
A couple of weeks would probably have been similar.Friend with a 17 year old reckons they saved £600 by waiting 3 months after the lad passed his test, compared with getting cover straight away..
Not always, back in the day I started with a 850 mini van, now mini vans were made to carry 5 cwt, after football 2 in the front 3 in the back, one of the lads weighed 2 cwt alone, so certainly overloaded. What about small car type vans . If they only have 2 seats there is surely a saving
Happy days. Started with a mini van. For those of a certain age, the one with the starter button on the floor. Yep, half the football team no bother & numerous YFC juniors all fitted in without complaint. Not always, back in the day I started with a 850 mini van, now mini vans were made to carry 5 cwt, after football 2 in the front 3 in the back, one of the lads weighed 2 cwt alone, so certainly overloaded.
Having a mattress in the back can turn out expensive as well.
A 125 might be a solution that's how mine got to his apprenticeship, before passing his car test. Insurance in his name £460 mileage capped at 6000.Our son passed a few weeks ago and the figures are just mind blowing!! Really needs looking into and capping by the government. We ended up with a company called Flickr (or something like that). Everything is against the poor lad though. He's only allowed to do so many miles within the year but he's secured a really good apprentaship but its 25mile there, 25mile back, so he's soon going to use up his allocation. So as usual just because we are up in the hills and all he wants to do is graft, we are penalised. What a state of a country we live in, its just total pants!
I was thinking that don't know why they have to have a car straight away.A 125 might be a solution that's how mine got to his apprenticeship, before passing his car test. Insurance in his name £460 mileage capped at 6000.
Frustrating bike insurance no claims doesn't carry over to car
son passed his test beginning of march , insured a 1.2 fabia for £1250 7 or 8000 miles a year , a black box would have been 100 less but he would have been penalised coming home after 10 from his part job , friends with fiestas , corsa etc are paying over 2 grand , fabia group 5 insurance , polo group 15 same car underneath
not sure to be honest , a friends son had a renault tiwgo or something like that 1500cc engine and 130 horse cheap insurance as it was un popular , on the compare site my son quotes went from 1150 right up to 5500 grand , i phoned and asked about a black for my son and was told it was unsuitable because of his late working , you think they would make exemptions for young people working , same as living on a back road you are penalised by the black boxAre larger cars not a bit cheaper? Some of these quotes are plain nuts.
Identify male driver as gender neutral when you get quotes online. Some companies reduce premiums.
good luck with challenging this. Obviously only put this if they are identifying this way. That could be classified as insurance fraud.
