Have you tried a different car?

Remember when girls used to enjoy lower insurance premiums because they crashed less often and with less severity? Well, they all went around stamping their feet, demanding equality because men had it so easy, so insurers weren't allowed to load premiums based on gender back when we only had 2 genders. So now the girls pay the same as the boys, so suck it up buttercup

We found with both of ours that we just had to suck it up for the first year.

The crucial bit is to make sure the wee rascals don't have an accident during that first year as having even one year of clean driving under their belt made a colossal difference.

So just bend over!

Insurance is an absolute scam. Admiral are usually the cheapest, you might find a focus cheaper than a fiesta as afforementioned less likely to be a first car and therefore less accidents. Adding onto farm insurance is good but be aware it only covers "farm use" anything outside of that and they might not pay out.

Simple fact is, you are forced to buy insurance so why should any of them make it cheap? its clear collusion, couldnt help but laugh when they were talking about it on the news the other day and the chap said that the insurance people want to make it cheaper! Why would they?? Where is their incentive? They all jack the prices way up and they all make tons of money.

Having difficulty getting a sensible quote for daughter, just passed test, looking at £4000 for her too insure a 1.5tdi fiesta.
Who is good for young drivers?
We use Churchill.
New/young driver in their own right but add father/mother as an experienced additional driver and the premium is reduced a little.
After twenty five the premiums drop a lot.

Worth trying it with and without mind...
Oh absolutely, you try everything.

Sometimes and with some companies, comp cheaper, others comp dearer.

Thing is, with the modern way of doing such things you can really work the system, comparison sites, play with different cover, different excesses, extra drivers, no extra drivers, etc, etc.

You'll not get a cheap quote, but you can still make it as cheap as possible with a bit of time and effort.

I don't have any figure for the premiums but a Peugeot 107 or Citroen C1 (the same car rebadged) are 1000cc engines and worth a look

I get mine added to farm insurance, recently achieved that for fiesta diesel, 17 year old niece, £1200.
Surely won’t help them build up a no claims bonus if policy not in their own name though?
17 year old daughter with 1.0L Polo was £950 with Mrs & I also down as named drivers.

As for black boxes. Don’t think they will do you much good good if home is mainly along C Class roads with Deer & Pheasants that are likely to jump out in front of you.
