I have a few stores that insist on lying behind the feed barriers will this be a huge problem and Is it likely to discount them can be split and moved into a pen on there own but will cause a lot more work
Probably should post this under the DD categories but felt it may not be viewed by non DD folk.
Been soil sampling on a couple of large direct drilled farms recently and consequently dug a lot of holes. One of the farms was about 1200 acres, been direct drilling for about 15 years. Stubbles...
After a dry first 3 weeks of September:-
24 Sept 2019 - 26mm rain
23 Sept 2020 - 29mm rain
I hope that is the only similarity.
Sorry for the pessimism.
Really could do with one, but undecided on what to go for.
Have sheds, but no drying facilities, but have got a dresser to patch in.
As easy to use as possible as I'm on my own.
Crops, Wheat, Barley, Beans, OSR ( 🤞) Linseed, may head towards a few more niche crops once set up.
Budget isn't...
I’m thinking of direct drilling with my weaving gd, into an oat cover crop (Self planted before with harvest!) but I’m just about to spread fym at roughly 15t/ac on it first. Normally I disc the muck in with two passes at 30-40mm depth, but would like to go direct this time? What are people’s...
Spent an interesting afternoon digging holes yesterday around the farm looking at soil structure. On the whole the farm is at the OK stage to start DD properly. Just have a couple of fields that would benefit from a cover crop to break up the top 4" that were ploughed last year in a desperation...
We've got a Claas Dominator combine, 5 straw walkers.
Cutting spring barley yesterday and the walkers are clogging up with awns to the point that there is s mat 6" deep on them.
Sometimes had bits block up before but not to this level. It was quite possible to crawl about in there as the spikey...
Starting cutting linseed tomorrow. Looks like a decent week forecast so could get it baled if there was demand / viable price
Will start with the chopper on, 500ac to go at PM me if you‘re a buyer
@Derrick Hughes @Clever Dic ?
Had the opportunity to take a look today and drive one of these beasts. Hard o drive conclusions re output as it was in a spring wheat crop that didn't really test capacity.
The Draper header (hinged not flex) was very impressive and was really helping output, left me thinking this type of...
Got this summer catch crop of radish, mustard and black oats that is motoring along. But do the oats actually do much, shaded out in the bottom of the crop?
Is anyone using suspension fertilisers with avadex in a mintill situation.
I was told avadex wouldn’t work with min till cos it won’t get good coverage with clods and trash etc, but I’m told avadex spread in the suspension fertiliser gets better coverage. The question is, is it enough to make it...
