710/60 or 710/70 42 -anyone using ceat 710/60/42 vf ?

Currently torn between fitting the same size that’s on at present 710/70/42 or fitting flexible vf tyres at 710/60…looking at it I will drop the height about 70 mm which may be an advantage to be fair ,as the fixed drawbar on this tractor would become the same height as my other fixed drawbar tractors ,
But was wondering if anyone has any comments on they’re vf or flex whatever you want to call them tyres-was looking at CEAT in particular -they do 710/60 vf but 710/70 are std tyres
What sort of pressures are people getting down to ?
Machine is a Xerion 3800 -won’t do much roading but I was thinking g the lower pressures would improve the bouncing about situation too ,no mounted equipment used all drawbar

Have VF 710/60/42 on a 280 HP Massey and they are needing changed (7000 hrs). I'm looking to go the other way and replace with 710/70/42 and I will not be putting anything other than a VF tyre on to replace it. Have run them at 5 psi happily. Haulage work at 50k run them at 12 - 15 psi. Have VF 710/60/38 on a 100HP tractor in springtime and have run them down to 3 psi.
Be aware of the HP rating of VF tyres, those 710/60/42 were fitted by the tractor manufacturer but are only rated to 220HP and some people had bother with them.

Do u have a tyre inflation kit on the massey or do you just pump them up yourself. 7k hours isnt bad

Thank you that’s what I’m be after …std tyre we tend to be 22 ish so I should be able to go much lower…if I could get down to your transport pressure that’s half the current pressure and would be a lot better !
The walls have stood it that low - and you’ve not had them spin in the beads at all and They are still sealed airtight at 7000 yrs ?wow that’s ace.

We have an ex demo 8s 265 at work and that was specced the same tyres, xeobib?, which like you say Michelin rate upto low 200hp. It won't be doing much heavy draught work though so hopefully they will last.

Would a 70 profile vf tyre ran at a lower pressure be much different in drawbar height compared to a 60 profile standard tyre at a higher pressure?

I dont get it. There are at least 3 manufacturers that make a vf710/70r42 tyre.

To get the best outa vf tyres would the tractor not need the inflation system? How long would it take to blow them up a bit with the vario grip thing that fendt do

Ideal to get the best out of them but the ability to run lower pressures that non vf tyres had benefits even if they aren't ran at their optimum pressure all the time. The same argument can be made for most modern tractors, how many people are using 100% of the features all the time to extract the best performance from a machine.

I would quite like to drop the drawbar height to match our track machine heights so I was asking thoughts on vf tyres really as any 710/70 vf tyres seem much more expensive and the drop in height won’t bother me and also I think the lower pressure used in general will be a more comfy ride so I wanted thoughts of users of ceat ones as they seem well priced-£1490 for 710/60/42 vf .

Ah allright, I didn't quite get that. I would really not like to go down a tyresize. Is it not feasible to modify the drawbar to the right height?
