Amazone Amatron 3

Hmm,tried our dealer supplied cable from the Amatron 3 terminal to the roof serial port in the cab for our NMEA input from the receiver but the Amatron isn't picking up any signal.
Possibly the cable is incompatible or our serial port isn't linked to the Trimble receiver perhaps. I really need to get a pair of those connector signal modules to test the #2 pin.
Interestingly when we run the spreader on our John Deere 7530 we have the Amatron 3 plugged into the isobox socket in the cab and use the GS 1800 for mapping.
When you turn the spreader on and off via the Amatron this initiates mapping on the 1800 screen but on the Fendt set up in the same manner turning the spreader on and off has no effect on mapping coverage and there doesn't appear to be a trigger value relevant.
Out of interest how have you got your ZA-V configured @Pheasant Surprise ?
Hope its ok to dig a thread up 6.5 years later..... can you show me what cable you use to make the amatron 3 connect to jd isobus? i'd like to do the same in R series and amatron

Thanks

From memory, we just plugged the Amatron isobus loom into the tractor cab iso socket and it was away.
You need to decide which screen is going to be responsible for being the main operating terminal ( UT 1) and set it up that way .
That is,either the tractor screen or the Amatron.

my amatron 3 and sprayer are running amabus, but if I can also link the amatron 3 to the isobus tractor at the same time maybe it will pick up satellites speed etc without needing the NMEA

I think I'm just gonna take speed and position and still use the amatron 4 to control it because amazone works in a curve and JD aren't doing that yet but I'll let you know.

I'm just trying to get rid of the amazone reciever as i had issues with it last year

I’ve currently starfire T harness in 6420s between receiver and tractor for section control on amatron 3, new R130 coming and don’t really wanna have to run cables up to roof on new machine

I've a funny feeling you still will . I went in last week and they had the roof off mine putting a cable up to the receiver wiring somewhere and I asked them to not hard wire it in as I might want it to run on a 7530 on 7310r so was easier if I can move it around

@r.lyons as I thought there mustn't be a way to get satellite signal out of a plug in the tractor . I've got a cable hard wired in frim the back of the receiver into the cab with an rs232 end in it to go to the amatron . Only way will be to run machine and section control through the JD screen which for me at the moment isn't an option but for a sprayer you'd be fine.

I'm using the tractors 9 pin plug and isobus wiring to run my amatron but need the extra cable to get GPS to it.

Ah ok fair enough, still the same as in running in 6420s then, pity you’d think by now Deere would have the option, tho suppose really they want all isobus

It's thrown in temporarily just now as I was in a rush to get on . I'm only gonna use the amatron for section control I'm gonna run the spreader through the tractor screen when I remember how to set it up .

I dunno what you're getting but these new bigger screens seem to have section control unlocked from what I'm told so you might not need your amatron at all

Ah yes I see, your amatron and spreader must be full isobus and because you want the curve youre using the amatron otherwise you could just run all thru jd screen and not need extra feed of gps to amatron gotcha
thanks

Hello Is it possible to connect Amatron 3 via isobus to Fendt 724 s4. The Amatron 3 panel has previously been connected using the Amabus scheme. Amatron terminal without ISOBUS option. If so, what cable should I use? Thanks to previous posts, I managed to connect Amatron to the Fendt GPS receiver using a DB9 cable and now it catches an average of 19-21 satellites. Switching between screens in Amatron 3 is cumbersome. Once I control the machine, e.g. I manually level the lances of the Amazone UF sprayer and then look at the navigation path.
