I dont know what Irish telly news is like but the UK stuff isnt news at all, it's the expression of the outlets opinion followed by condemnation of everything the uk does, especially its government, its history and anything middle aged plus white males do. They set out to stir trouble but all they do is cause many folk worry and turn people off from watching. It's no surprise that viewing figures are dropping just as newspaper sales have fallen, people are fed up with them.
Edit
Just looked up the bbc figures they have lost a million news viewers per wk for each year from 2012 to 2019, that's 25 % I expect that drop has increased since

Do you honestly see the output of GB News as anything but an ‘expression of the outlet’s opinion’? As a commercial channel, relying on advertising revenue, that ‘opinion’ is hardly going to be independent.

I haven't seen any of it and highly unlikely I will, but if it isnt totally independent then it will be just the same as all the rest. As I said viewing figures for tv news and circulation figures for papers show people are fed up with the product that is being served up, it would seem that others are like me we find any news we want via other methods. News reporting has gone downhill since the advent of 24 hrs news stations, they need to "create" news to fill the time slots

Hundreds of channels of absolute rubbish now apart from the occasional item of interest on Channel 5 or BBC4.
I struggle to find my local BBC or ITV station as it seems to move around so much in the channel list. For some reason the high definition channels don’t work here either.
I really can’t see any improvement over the 3 analogue channels that used to serve us well. They have just padded the whole thing out with trash.

what news outlet isnt biased by those that produce it,gb news is supposed to offer an alternative to the norm on uk tv ,which is "london liberal"left leaning, anti brexit and england

well one thing RTE still does is call out BS when talked by politicians as seen in the RTE v Nigel farage were the presenter called him out on his lies, corrected him on his "facts" and the look of shock on his face was priceless

maybe if the UK media still did this, we would have a better standard of politicians

I must admit to listing to some RTE programmes and find them very balanced and informative. (y)

Dans Digest, just been having ago at the bbc for using enforcers to target pensioners who don't/can't pay their TV license. (y)
I think the panel will be discussing it shortly.

After that idiot taking the knee and the box tickers who clearly have little talent, I can't be arsed with it any more. Rubbish.
