We had a couple of lorry trailers stuck for about 6 weeks start of year. They just sat at customs waiting to be processed. It’s slightly better now. Still delays with at most ports too but that’s a mix of Covid and brexit

If your spares are included in a random consignment which gets chosen for a full customs check (Yes they do happen and there is absolutely nothing to be done about it other than wait for release) then the typical extra delay seems to be 16 to 18 working days during this current relaxed period before we go all the way back to our chosen third country status.

Furloughed staff is a separate issue and is also having a small effect on top.

If you are fortunate then you will never experience this type of delay - They seem to be completely random but have come about purely because some folk wanted a dark blue passport. printed in Poland instead of on Tyneside.

Our biomass boiler fan motor went down on Wednesday , rang installer lunchtime, who ordered the part from ETA Austria. It was flown to Manchester by DHL and fitted yesterday afternoon. Well impressed really at that level of service......now bracing for the bill😂

One of our manufacturing customers wanted a 400 kg pallet collecting from Northern Italy in February - Got it Collected and delivered into Doncaster within 23 hours of his first contact, by someone who was already nearby....(Contacts ;)) Charged my customer under £1k and kept a production line running. Customs seem to prefer to pull parcel consignments for the longest delays, not accompanied freight.

The import checks are not in place in Britain at present. Exports are facing the disruption.
When the import checks come into place then there will be some delays here and there due to paperwork issues.

An apiarist friend of ours has essential ,queen breeding goods from France held in UK customs where they have been for over 10 days so far - Time is of the essence but there is nothing to be done other wait and hope...

We needed a pump repair kit for an Altek pump for our Househam sprayer. They reckoned it was taking two weeks to get something that would come overnight previously I’d think that’s Brexit plus Covid.

Air isn’t really affected . It’s road based that’s causing grief

Nope... First order from Germany due end of next week. Customs codes now on the invoice VAT already paid so should be OK.

US stuff with Fedex is still slow since the snow they had depending where it flys from.

I'm aware that parts supply chains are difficult and slow at the moment. But I think that's more down to staff on furlough etc rather than brexit.
If you speak to hauliers who are crossing borders daily they will tell you there's no delays or issues

Yes all the time😂

All orders from EU stock have to be in by 1pm to ship out same day. Its then about 3 working days to deliver to uk mainland where as before could get it next day AM.

Currently I have a brake accumulator on order from Belgium that was due in uk early last week, some how the pallet it was on has ended up in Russia🙈🤨

That’s strange. We’ve just recently started shipping full loads and so far no delays and no issues. That said our factory logistics team are really “on it” and had thoroughly researched UK customs. Also we have found a good clearing agent too

We ordered an outside pizza oven from Bulgaria, arrived on 2 pallets with no delays.
I had my first experience with one of those things about two weekends ago. My daughter's partner had one as a present from his father. An amazing 700C inside it and extremely fast cooking pizza. Wish it heated up the patio as well, because it was blinking cold out there.

It called a pizza heater not patio heater .
