Artic trailer to ag trailer

We’re in need of a decent bale trailer on some decent running gear. Current trailer just seems to blow tyres constantly even just carrying straw, suspect 50k is a bit unkind.

I priced a new trailer and nearly fell over! We could do with something to be able to move fert so if we can get something cheap enough I’d set rails around it and have two one for bales and one for fert.

back to the point how do we take an ex artic lorry trailer and get it suitable for ag safe and legally? The commercial trailer seem to be a fraction of the ag ones. Is there a reason? To be clear here safety is paramount and I am not looking In anyway to compromise on that

They're cheap because they've done millions of miles and have to pass a yearly MOT, loads about too.

They make sense for ag use, big tyres, big brakes, big suspension

Just bought a 42ft one for £850 think its mot runs out in january.lad said he'd convert it to a 32ft for £1200.
I would keep away from ones with disc brakes.

I bought a 30 foot artic trailer with mot for £800 inc 5th wheel plate , then local fabricator made me a dolly , good trailer , 40 foot is too long for us , can't get them in the fields

That one seems a bit rough.
