Cattle have been inside and on ad-lib for 5 weeks and just don’t seem to blooming.
they are full hair and are not blooming
They are on barley/wheat soya beans minerals and molasses as well as a ring feeder is silage and 1 straw. Anything I am missing to push them
Any ideas

What's their worming / fluke status?
Id take a few samples of the worst doers to the vets for analyses. A lot of Rumen fluke about.

How wet is your silage? We are on some wet shite at the moment and stores weren’t happy at all. New bale in the the feeder and bed them up, all of them would be beads down filling up on straw. Getting some hay now as well and intakes of forage gone up.

Started them on some yeast as well but doubtful that’s making much difference!

Fluke mine when they come in and then again in 8 weeks. Finishing cattle only get fluked once.
You could add some maize to the finishing ration and cut off the silage.

Had a very quick convo with meds rep when I asked about Ivermectin. I believe he was suggesting I have them housed 6 weeks then use the worm/fluke combo

Patience, 5 weeks isn't long, what they haven't put on in 5 weeks they will in the next 10

5 weeks isn't a long time, clip their backs, may need worming if you haven't done them already, how much silage are they eating compared to the ad-lib ration? I'd personally do away with silage if they have been on ad-lib for 5 weeks.

‘It’s a bad time of year for cattle’
That’s a comment we often make here.
When a beast comes in off grass it takes 6 weeks minimum for the rumen to adjust to the new diet
We bring stores in and put them on silage and a decent bit of concentrate or cereal and think the same they don’t look as if they’ve done much
I have been thinking this time if it would be cheaper just to put them on silage for 6 weeks but we’ve carried on the same

When a beast looses weight it looses it from the inside first so you don’t really notice it.
The same can be said when a beast puts weight on it goes on from the inside first
