Any Asian or Indian supermarkets nearby Neil? They usually have rice in 20kg bags. Or go to Costco/Booker and get a few bags... A friendly "local" shop should be able to help out as they will have an account. Or even and Indian takeaway??

Just checked Costco and they are 21 quid for a 20kg bag. so your 1.25/kg isn't bad.

The Indian in Montgomery closed a couple of years ago. :(
We were warned about it by a few locals when we moved here. Apparently it was best avoided as the folks working there were.......Indian.? A shame really as it was good food.

Funny that this thread has popped up....

I have some patching to do where the dreaded fleabeetle has decimated the seedlings in game cover. So I popped into an Indian supermarket yesterday, and asked for the cheapest rice they had. Young guy came over and asked what I wanted it for, which made him chuckle when I explained. 12 quid for 20kg bag... I wish the seed was as cheap!! ;)

That is cheap. I guess that's one advantage of living in an ethnically diverse area. We only have Polish shops here. :censored:

If it is a regular problem is it worth fitting a small air seed box. Bet there are a few lying about on arable farms now that don't (can't) grow osr anymore.

@neilo could've given reasons before possibly ? .....but anyhow it could just be down to cost, maybe because the option isa fair bit dearer...the reason (s)why he doesn't or rather didn't get an air drill version
