Chasing the plough with the combi drill is the only way we can drill anything in a normal autumn here in Northern Ireland. This year it's too wet to even think about trying it.

Tramliner is hydraulic so just plug in to a spool valve

Silver , are those discs on drill the new cx2 ,s how do you get on with them ,looking at getting a tool bar with them on to make a drill with front hopper

I’ve still a fair amount of grass to drill and the rain just keeps on coming

If it is too wet and it turns cold, forget it, drill it in spring along with 25kg/acre of spring barley. Mow it all off in July.

I know in the past it was common practice but I think it is a terrible way of abusing soil, leaving it bare all winter

You can get away with it down here so long as it is on ground that isn't being pulled about too often. A year in maize, a few years in grass etc.

Thats what it’s like in a good year, on the best stuff. Not this year and we do have our fair share of heavy wet stuff.

Combi drill is ready now and will start next week on stuff that will plough and drill and then hope it drys up enough to get vaddy going on all the stale seedbed but if not it will be turned upside down and combi drilled

Almost perfect set up. Skinny tyres on plow tractor wide ones on drill tractor.

Just a shame the drill tractor has a ‘ruined’ hung on the front of it!

Wide tyres? You need at least 800s on for drilling. A front linkage and a press would look a lot better than the loader.
