What’s the population of Iceland?
There is talk of an aim to test 25000 a day here but currently only doing about a third of that, a lack of tests seems to be the major hold up.

300,000 or so. The most significant point though is that half weren’t showing symptoms. There could be potentially thousands of doctors and nurses still working, carrying the virus without symptoms and infecting patients and conversely thousands of others isolating at home because they’ve got a cough etc who could go back to work if they tested negative. If you don’t test you can’t fight the disease effectively.

Wonder what test Iceland used too - I’ve read somewhere (and don’t know if it’s true or not) that the German one is pretty good but the Spanish one has many, many (30%+) false positives.

Ah, you have forgotten the passions of youth and the desire to live life to the full. I find it as hard to understand that people are happy to self imprison as you struggle with the idea that others want to have a far greater quality of life.
I have a farm , when i was a teenager i hardly left it
But plenty of old westerns on sky to keep me happy

They also said that over 1 Million have now been infected ,some will have shown no symtoms, that was from the Government
Sounds about right I would calculated it to be number of confirmed cases x 6 x 8 (6 being that around 15% of infections present at hospital and are then confirmed.. to compesate for the lag between infection and results, cases double every 4 days and there is probably 12 day lag between being infected and having the infection confirming, so 2*2*2 = 8)

I am hearing rumours of 3 deaths within a 3 mile radius of us in which may be CV19 related.

The pros and cons of face masks on the news at the mo. If the virus can infect through the eyes then a little more than nose and mouth cover might be wise.
I flew back from Singapore last Monday 23rd. Two on the plane were wearing disposable coveralls and cartridge full face respirators. We, party of 14, wore disposable masks all day every day as per govt requirements.

Big joke to many at the moment.
Sun's out,off work, off school ,reality NOT sinking in with General Public YET?
Crazy.
They think they're on bloody holiday.

I caught a van along a private trackway, fishing.
Cleared them off, but was so annoyed I sent a picture of the van to the company.
To say the MD was somewhat angry would be an understatement, the two fishermen were going to be redundant by the end of the day.
They were bunking off, let alone doing unnecessary travel.

I’ve been ploughing by the main road. Definitely more traffic today after a few days of it it being fairly quiet .
Lots of work vans, including self employed builders and things like a garage door fitter. Lots of lorries and plenty of cars travelling by.
I think folks are getting fed up already, and who can really blame the self employed for wanting to work .

Yep, gradually by degree the lockdown will become meaningless.
